from 1973 to 1992

1973 is where it all began. In Bairro do Ipiranga where Mestre Okuda started his training. Newly arrived from Japan, Sensei Okuda, with the help of some of his disciples, the Butoku-kan was legally created and founded a few years later.

Butoku-kan stayed in this dojo for around 20 years. At that time, training was focused on training great athletes for competitive Karate, so it was during those years that Sensei Okuda formed the biggest names in Brazilian Shotokan Karate.

After 20 years in Bairro do Ipiranga, Butoku-kan moved to Pinheiros on Rua Joaquim Antunes, where it shared space with a  _cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_         _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     _cc781905-5cde-31 94-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_                     _cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     for about 23 years. It was during this period that Taketo Okuda took his path, developing new techniques through his training that involved harmonic breathing techniques and energy circulation through Karate movements.

Making Butoku-kan increasingly something special, where intense Karate training techniques were improved and at the same time complex meditation techniques, as well as in ancient Buddhist Temples, which forged not only monks and yes great warriors.

In 2015, after 23 years, Butoku-kan changed again, but remaining in the same neighborhood. More than 40 years after the beginning of his journey, Taketo Okuda was presented by one of his students with a "Temple", where he could train and continue his grand career spreading the philosophy of life of a true Samurai Warrior.

Located at Rua Cunha Gago, 798, Sensei Okuda had the opportunity to continue his training, developing great treasures for the history of World Karate.

  Após 7 anos neste "Templo" Taketo Okuda faleceu, deixando o      _cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_         _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_         _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_     as responsible for carrying forward all s i Legacy.

With the death of Taketo Okuda, Butoku-kan suffered a great loss. Therefore, great relationships and great ties were ended,  such as the "Temple" where we trained.

In January 2023, after 8 great years, Sensei Seiji was able to continue the teachings inherited from his Master Okuda, maintaining the High Standard that his master so cherished in his new address.

Located at Rua Cunha Gago, 383, Butoku-kan continues with its philosophy of Forging New Samurai Warriors, who are ready to fight  with themselves and manage to win the battle everyday.

Reports and news

Since 1972, when Butoku-kan was founded, there have been several reports and news published in magazines and newspapers. With news from the time when Butoku-kan still participated in championships, including the year it was champion. During his journey to Butoku-kan, he had several topics addressed by reporters, such as health and well-being; women looking to practice martial arts; between others.

People don't even imagine that activities outside the Dojo are essential for the development of the spirit of a Samurai warrior. There are several activities that help you to strengthen your character and make us more and more willing to face new challenges and difficulties.

Hiking and traveling brings us closer to Nature and makes us recognize its importance. In addition to this direct contact, the trails make us face physical and mental difficulties in order to complete the objectives.
